AstraZeneca are in talks with rival pharmaceutical Company, Gilead Sciences about a potencial merger according to media reports in the US.
A merger between the UK and US based companies would be the biggest pharmaceutical deal on record, according to reports by Bloomberg News.
The two companies have been working on possible vaccines for the coronavirus.
Sources have told Bloomberg that AstraZeneca contacted Gilead last month about joining forces. AstraZeneca has not specified terms for any transaction.
