Popular Disk jockey, Florence Otedola, known as DJ Cuppy, has signed a deal with Platoon, a UK-based music company, for the release of  her debut EP, ‘Original Copy’.

Cuppy announced the deal in a post on her social media handles.

In one of the video clips, she was seen having a virtual meeting with the senior executives of the company who discussed her duties and welcomed her officially on board.

Cuppy ascribed the development as a signal to a new chapter in her music career and the industry, saying it’s a dream come true.

“A new chapter with sweet music. Cuppy is now a @WeArePlatoon artist!” she wrote on Instagram.

Platoon Music, acquired by Apple in 2018, works with artistes to produce, distribute and sell their work, using analytics to figure out the target market for the content

It is to be recalled that Cuppy announced the name of her debut EP on social media after aggregating opinions of her fans on social media.

The new deal comes two months after Apple Music, a US music and video streaming service, announced her as host of its first-ever radio show in Africa.

This development adds another feather in her cap as her achievements stretches further, having had various major collaborations with the nation’s biggest artistes over the years, including Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy.
