Nigerian Foreigns Affairs Minister condemns demolition of a section of Nigerian Embassy in Ghana

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama has vehemently condemned the demolition of a section of the staff quarters of the Nigerian High Commission in Ghana.

Onyeama condemned this incident via his Twitter handle on Sunday and urged the Ghanaian government to take immediate action and find the perpetrators.

According to media reports, a Ghanaian businessman had accused the Nigerian High Commission of encroaching on his land by erecting staff quarters on it and showed documents to prove his claims
The unnamed man reportedly returned with bulldozers on Friday and began to pull down the buildings.

Onyeama tweeted: ”We strongly condemn two outrageous criminal attacks in Accra, Ghana, on a residential building in our diplomatic premises by unknown persons in which a bulldozer was used to demolish the building.

“We are engaging the Ghanaian Government and demand urgent action to find the perpetrators and provide adequate protection for Nigerians and their property in Ghana.”
