President Buhari Celebrates Reknowned Oncologist, Prof. Abayomi Durosinmi-Etti at 75

President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a message to congratulate the pioneer Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hospital, Abuja, Prof. Abayomi Durosinmi-Etti, on his 75th birthday, January 11, 2023.
The President congratulates the renowned medical doctor and researcher who has committed more than five decades to improving health services in Nigeria, and many parts of the world.

This was made known by Femi Adesina,Presidential Media Aide in a statement issued on Tuesday,10th of January, 2023.

“The President salutes Prof. Durosinmi-Etti for dedicating his life and career to the betterment of people’s heath, especially in unravelling challenging health conditions like cancer, which saw him taking up appointment with the United Nations, International Atomic Energy Agency (AEA) in Vienna, Austria as Radiotherapy Specialist responsible for the worldwide activities of the IAEA in Cancer Radiotherapy.

“As the first full Professor of Radiation Therapy and Oncology in Nigeria and former Chairman of the National Consultative Committee on Cancer Control, President Buhari commends Durosinmi-Etti’s willingness to always accept the nation’s call to service, and sacrificing his time and talent to ensure specialty in more than 45 developing nations, cutting across Africa, Asia, Pacific, South America and others.

“President Buhari joins family members, friends, and associates of the scholar in thanksgiving and rejoicing for the grace of wisdom, brilliance, and exceptional service to humanity.

“The President prays for God’s mercy and favour on Prof. Durosinmi-Etti and his family”, the statement added.
