President Tinubu Appoints Nyesom Wike As 3rd Southerner to Head FCT Ministry

— Assigns Portfolios to Ministerial Appointees

President Bola Tinubu has appointed the Former Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike as the third southerner to head the Ministry of Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The first Southerner and the first Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Abuja was Mobolaji Ajose-Adeogun, from 1976 to 1979.

The second FCT Minister from the Southern Nigeria was Mr. Mark Emeka Okoye, from 1981 to 1984

This was made known in a release by the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture on it’s verified Facebook page on Wednesday, 16th of August, 2023.
